Donated books should be in good condition. Only books meeting the inclusion guidelines for the collection will be added to Cardinal Textbooks. All donations become property of Oesterle Library upon receipt and may be used or displayed in public or staff areas, put in storage, sold, donated, or discarded in accordance with Oesterle Library collection development policies

Faculty teaching a course where the required book is available through Cardinal Textbooks are encouraged to provide this information to students.
A sample syllabus statement is below and may be used and adapted as appropriate for the course.
"The textbook for this course is available in Oesterle Library’s Cardinal Textbooks collection. Cardinal Textbooks is a library-sponsored textbook affordability program that provides NCC students with access to high-use and high-cost textbooks. Books in this collection can be checked out for 2 hours at a time, and must be used in the library. Visit noctrl.libguides.com/textbooks for more information."
This collection is supported by library funding, capital campaign funds, and book donations from NCC faculty, staff, and students. Textbooks purchased for the collection are acquired as funding allows according to the collection development guidelines. Items in this collection will be made available to NCC students for 2 hour, in-library-use loan periods.
