Cardinal Textbooks is a library-sponsored textbook affordability program that provides NCC students with access to high-use and high-cost textbooks. By making a selection of textbooks and course materials available in the library, this program will help reduce financial barriers for students, and support student success and retention.

About the Textbook Collection

How It Works

This collection is supported by library funding, capital campaign funds, and book donations from NCC faculty, staff, and students. Textbooks purchased for the collection are acquired as funding allows according to the collection development guidelines. Items in this collection will be made available to NCC students for 2 hour, in-library-use loan periods.

What Books Are Collected

  • Textbooks and other required print books for 100 and 200 level courses with multiple sections
  • Books must be available for library purchase in a print format
  • Supplemental online content will not be purchased, as these features are tied to individual users
  • Priority will be given for textbooks in general education courses with high enrollment
