Library Support Syllabus Statement

We encourage faculty to provide information about Oesterle Library in their syllabus, Canvas course shell, or other course documentation. Faculty may wish to provide general library information, but are also invited to provide the contact information of their department liaison.

The sample syllabus statements found below can be used and adapted as appropriate for the course.

 

General Library Support Syllabus Statement

Oesterle Library provides access to a broad range of high-quality information resources, including research articles, newspaper articles, and books. Librarians are available to support students through all stages of the research process, from brainstorming to bibliographies. Library resources can be found online at library.noctrl.edu, and the library can be contacted at library@noctrl.edu.

 

Specific Librarian Syllabus Statement

Oesterle Library provides access to a broad range of high-quality information resources. Librarians are available to support students through all stages of the research process, from brainstorming to bibliographies. The librarian for (department) is (librarian’s name), and she/he/they can be reached at (librarian’s email).

Cardinal Textbooks Syllabus Statement

Faculty teaching a course where the required book is available through Cardinal Textbooks are encouraged to provide this information to students.

A sample syllabus statement is below and may be used and adapted as appropriate for the course.

"The textbook for this course is available in Oesterle Library’s Cardinal Textbooks collection. Cardinal Textbooks is a library-sponsored textbook affordability program that provides NCC students with access to high-use and high-cost textbooks. Books in this collection can be checked out for 2 hours at a time, and must be used in the library. Visit noctrl.libguides.com/textbooks for more information."
