Reference Books

Encyclopedias and other reference books or ebooks provide foundational information on a topic. This information is key to developing the understanding of your culture that is required for further research.

 

Finding Reference Articles on CardinalSearch
  • Search for your country, culture, or subculture on CardinalSearch
  • Using the filters on the left side, select "Reference Entries" under Resource Types
    • Note that the list of Resource Types is not organized alphabetically; you will need to scan the list carefully to find "Reference Entries" 
Browsing Print Reference Books

Print encyclopedias and other reference books are on the lower level of Oesterle Library 1st. There is a reference collection, which contains the most recent editions of commonly used encyclopedia, but other encyclopedias and sources are in the general collection. Use the call number guide below to find books on your country or other cultural aspects.
