North Central College Special Collections

The North Central College Special Collections consists primarily of rare books and publications that hold long-term, historical research potential for North Central College academic programs. The collections support a broad range of research and teaching activities in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

Individual items in Special Collections may be located by searching in Cardinal Search, Oesterle Library's catalog. Use the filter-drop-down arrow on the searchbar to select “Special Collections” along with your keywords.

NCC's Special Collections include:

  • Haven Hubbard Collection

    Exquisitely bound multi-volume sets of works of literature as well as multi-volume sets of various world histories.

  • Kline Lincoln Collection & Leffler Lincoln Collection

    Lincolnian collections of published works relating to Abraham Lincoln, as well as photographs, leaflets, pamphlets, bulletins, and correspondence.

  • Sang Americana Collection

    A collection of Americana, including portraits, correspondence, photos, and ephemera.

  • Sang Jazz Collection

    A collection of mostly biographies and histories of the Jazz era, includes popular magazines, music catalogues, and sheet music.

  • Tholin Chicagoana Collection

    2500 volume collection related to every aspect of Chicago history.
