Election

This guide presents a variety of resources that may be useful during the upcoming election season.

Polling places

The polls are open in Illinois on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 6am to 7pm!

Students who live in the residence halls and are registered with an on-campus address (30 N. Brainard St.) are in DuPage County Precinct Lisle 001 and have the following Election Day polling place:

Community United Methodist Church, 20 N. Center St., Naperville, IL 60540, less than a half mile from campus.

Students who are not registered with an on-campus address, please visit the site below:

Early voting

The places and times you can vote early will vary based on where you live. The option to vote early on a weekend is available in many instances.

  • In DuPage County, IL, the early voting timeline begins 40 days prior to an election and ends 1 day prior to an election.
  • DuPage County also offers voters the option of early voting at other locations. Early voting locations are available here.

The law prohibits a person who voted during the early voting period from voting at the polls on Election Day.

Absentee voting

Contact your local election authority for an absentee ballot application. There are various deadlines for when the application reaches your local election authority. There needs to be enough time for them to send you the ballot and for you to have it postmarked no later than midnight on the night prior to the election.
