Ceiling Mounted Data Projection System (Sanyo PLC SP18N)

Complete data projection systems are available in several classrooms on campus.  These systems are permanently mounted in the classroom, and allow the user to display computer data on a large screen without setting up equipment.

To use the ceiling mounted data projection system, follow these directions:
 

1.  Turn on computer and monitor using the appropriate power buttons.

2.    Turn on the data projector by pressing the on/off button on the remote control.   Point the remote at the projector or screen. (see photo below)

 
 

      The data projector is set to fit the screen and is focused, no further adjustment should be necessary.

*In the unlikely event the projected image is interrupted by horizontal lines of static, the refresh rate on the computer must be reset.  Click here for instructions on setting the refresh rate.
 

Projecting Video

a.  The sanyo data projector may also be used to project video from the classroom VCR.

b.  Turn on the VCR, insert a videotape, and press play.

c.  Press the Mode button (see photo above) to choose the video input.  You may need to press the button two or three times until the video input is displayed.

d.  Volume may be adjusted by pressing the volume + and - buttons or the external speaker by the PC.

To return to the data input, press the mode button once or twice until the data mode is displayed.

Shut down procedures

A.  Exit all computer programs and follow the normal Windows shut down process.

B.  Using the data projector remote control, press the on/off button.  (see photo above)

C.  Turn off computer and monitor using the appropriate power switches.
 

The data projector fan will operate until the lamp cools.
Please make sure the projector lamp is off before leaving the classroom.
