Portable Presentation System

The portable presentation system consists of a network ready laptop computer and 1500 lumen data projector. This system was designed for use in small rooms on campus, and in locations where a Multimedia Projection Cart cannot be delivered or set up.

Setting Up

1.
Remove laptop computer and data projector from case. All of the necessary connections between the computer and data projector should already be made. (If they are not, see "wiring" section below.)

2.
Plug laptop computer and data projector into electrical power source.

3.
If network access is desired, plug CAT 5 network cable into data LOC.

Important Note

If you are not planning to connect to the network for your presentation, you must connect to and log on to the network beforehand so your user profile is saved on the computer. You may do this days in advance. Once you log on and your desktop is visible, you may shut down and unplug the network.

When you are ready for your presentation, turn on the computer and choose "workstation only" on the log in screen.

4.
Place data projector about 8 feet from screen (adjust distance as needed to increase or decrease image size).

5.
Turn on laptop computer by sliding power button.

6.
Turn on data projector by pressing the "On/standby" button on top of the machine. As the projector warms up, an image of a data projector will be displayed on the screen. When this image disappears, the projector is ready to use.

7.
Select desired input source (computer, video) by pressing the "input" button.

8.
Adjust zoom by turning the zoom lever on the projector lens. Adjust focus by turning the focus ring on the projector lens.

If all of the above procedures are complete, and the image on the laptop monitor does not display on the data projector, toggle the computer image between the laptop monitor and the data projector. This is done by holding down the FN key and pressing the F4 key. Wait about 5 seconds and repeat the procedure until you see the image.
