Projection Cart
The multimedia
projection cart (MPC) projects images from the onboard NCC networked computer,
to a large projection screen in the classroom. The MPC is composed of
a networked computer, monitor, and data projector on a compact cart.
The MPC is a mobile unit that may be used in any classroom in the building to which it is assigned.
Click here to see which buildings have MPCs.
Using the MPC is easy, just follow these simple steps:
1. Plug the cart's power cord into a classroom electrical outlet, and connect the network cable to the classroom computer LOC
2. Power up the computer and monitor by pressing the power switch on each piece of equipment.
Note: The computer monitor will not function unless the data projector is turned on.3. Turn on the data projector using the power switch located on the top panel of the projector.
4. To display computer data, press the input button until the projector displays the ANALOG RGB mode. Pause about four seconds between each input selection to make certain the projector recognizes the input.
5. Adjust the projected image. The data projector has a zoom control. To increase the size of the projected image, slide the zoom lever until the image is the desired size. You may also move the projector closer or farther from the screen to resize the image.
When an image is projected at a slight angle, keystoning can occur. Keystoning is the effect created when the top of the projected image is larger than the bottom, and the vertical edges are not parallel. A keystone correction button is located on the top of the data projector; simply push the + or - until the picture is square.
To focus the projected image, rotate the lens until a sharp picture is achieved.
6. When you are finished with the MPC, shut down the computer, and turn the data projector off using the on/off button. The lamp will turn off, but the fan will continue running for approximately 2 minutes. Once the fan stops, simply unplug the cart's power cord and the network cable.

Do not unplug the MPC or press the main power switch until the fan stops. Doing so will drastically shorten the life of the projector lamp. |
