Larrance
16 is equipped with state of the art presentation equipment including a networked
computer, data projector, document camera, VCR, and Smartboard. The computer
is projected onto the Smartboard, a touch sensitive white board that allows
the user to navigate computer programs by touching the projected image.
The color document camera displays opaque objects such as photographs and
books, as well as three dimensional objects. The document camera and VCR are
projected onto the 6 foot diagonal white screen for easy viewing. An additional
port is available above the instructor's table for connecting laptop computers
to the ceiling mounted data projector.

Connecting a laptop Computer
An additional port is available to connect a laptop computer to the ceiling mounted data projector. To display your laptop computer on the data projector, follow the steps below.
1. Connect the 15 pin RGB cable from your laptop RGB out port to the wall plate marked "laptop connection".
2. Turn on the data projector (see above links for directions).
3. Turn on your laptop computer.
4.
Press the mode button on the data projector remote control until computer
2 is displayed on the Smartboard.
Equipment Tips
Do not use markers on the Smartboard, dry erase or otherwise. Only use the special Smartboard pens in the tray provided.
When creating documents to display on the Elmo document camera, consider the following to avoid constant adjustment:
- Use 24 point text or larger
- Use dark, bold colors
- Use the landscape format on your printer. In other words, the final paper should be 11" wide and 8.5" tall.
- Adjust the angle of the upper lights if you use transparencies. Glossy objects reflect the light and glare may obstruct the image.
