Faculty: Schedule a Library Instruction Session Today

Want to encourage your students to go beyond Google? Librarians are always available to talk to your class about how to make the most of the resources and services that Oesterle Library has to offer.

Oesterle's librarians always tailor library instruction sessions toward the specific needs of your students, offering detailed demonstrations of the library resources and search techniques that will produce the best results for a given discipline, subject, or research assignment. A library instruction session will familiarize your students with the discipline-specific databases, journals, reference works, and other library resources that they'll need in order to perform high-quality research for your classes. At the same time, librarians will also introduce the research techniques and habits of mind that students can apply to performing successful research on any topic in any discipline.

If you bring a class into the library's Class of 1997 Instruction Lab, librarians will lead your students through hands-on search exercises and interactive learning activities. Librarians are also available to drop by your classroom to work with your students.

To schedule a library instruction session today, just contact your library liaison. For more information, see the library's pages on the Information Literacy and Instruction Program and on library instruction.
