Administrative History:
A major function of the Business Affairs Office is the receipt and disbursement of funds. Early in the College’s history, this function was performed solely by the Financial Agent of the College. As North Central grew and reporting requirements increased, this function has become the central portion of several employees’ positions and is now tracked with automated systems.

Description:
This series contains three registers from early in the College’s history. The first register is a register of cash received (largely from students) along with designation of those funds, including endowment, tuition, interest, and incidentals. Although the College obviously continued collecting monies, no similar registers exist in the Archives.

The finance committee minutes ledger was complied by J. H. Yaggy, North Central’s financial agent from 1893 to 1899. The ledger discusses finance committee proceedings which include discussions of loans, college receipts, banking, and donations.

The furnishing fund ledger relates to the furnishing of the new College building at Naperville (now known as Old Main). This ledger includes listings of how much money was donated and where the money was collected but nothing about actual purchase and placement of furniture in Old Main.
